When you're co-hosting the Met Gala – which this year honors the work of influential Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo – it's go big or go home.

Katy Perry went big.

The pop star arrived on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art a futuristic lady in red, donning a custom Maison Margiela ensemble by John Galliano. But look closer: Her gauzy headdress featured silver coils, mirrors and the word "Witness" embroidered over her forehead.

A hint about the name of her upcoming album? Fans sure think so.

And of course, Katy's hands were decked in diamonds. All the diamonds.
