Who made the most money in music for 2016?
It wasn't too much of a surprise to find out the highest paid singer of 2016, according to a report by music website Billboard.com.
Bow down to the Queen, Beyoncé.
Beyoncé, now a mother to twins, overwhelmed Billboard's "Top 50 Moneymakers of 2016" taking home a stellar $62.1 million — $20 million more than the No. 2 act (sorry Guns N' Roses).
Billboard says the bulk of that payday stemmed from her Formation World Tour, in support of her sixth album, Lemonade, an all-stadium exodus that featured Kendrick Lamar and husband JAY-Z as surprise guests at the MetLife Stadium finale in East Rutherford, N.J.
That tour sold 1.2 million tickets and grossed $161 million. While Lemonade may have lost the Grammy for album of the year to Adele, it earned 2.2 million equivalent album units in 2016.
We'll see how JAY-Z does next year with his 4:44 album and tour.
The top 10 on the list were as follows:
2) Guns N' Roses at $42.3M
3) Bruce Springsteen $42.2 M
4) Drake $37.3M
5) Adele $37M
6) Coldplay $32.3M
7) Justin Bieber $30.5
8) Luke Bryan $27.3
9) Kanye West $26.1
10) Kenny Chesney $25.4
