1 A man and a woman were cited for shoplifting $451 worth of groceries and other merchandise at Woodman’s, 8131 S. Howell Ave., at 11:50 a.m. Dec. 6.
2 A delivered package containing $72 worth of merchandise was stolen off a porch in the 400 block of East Fitzsimmons Road at 4:40 p.m. Dec. 8.
3 A customer reported someone stole $300 to $600 worth of coupons from him at Meijer, 171 W. Town Square Way, at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 9. The customer stated the coupons were in his empty cart when he went into the restroom, and when came out his cart was gone. Police reviewed surveillance footage, which showed a woman came out of the women’s bathroom and randomly grabbed the cart, which was one of several empty carts near the restroom area. The coupons had no cash value.
4 A man shoplifted a cart full of Tide, Downy, bleach, paper towels and other cleaning supplies, valued at about $300, at Woodman’s, 8131 S. Howell Ave., at 12:55 p.m. Dec. 10. The man fled the lot in a gray SUV with Minnesota license plates.
5 A woman is facing a state charge of theft for stealing more than $1,200 worth of women’s clothing and jewelry out of her husband’s room at Comfort Suites, 6362 S. 13th St., between noon and 11:50 p.m. Dec. 11. The man was staying in the room with a female co-worker, and his wife was able to get a room key from the front desk. Once inside, the wife destroyed the woman’s makeup and stole all her jewelry, clothing and underwear.
6 Two men shoplifted two duffel bags full of Red Bull energy drinks at Pick ’n Save, 8770 S. Howell Ave., and fled in a dark blue or purple four-door vehicle at about 10:10 p.m. Dec. 11. Police pursued the vehicle for about three miles until it entered the freeway.
7 A woman was taken into custody for possession of heroin and marijuana after the vehicle she was riding in was pulled over for a traffic violation in the 6400 block of South 13th Street at 2:45 a.m. Dec. 8. She was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia when police found used needles, tourniquets and a spoon inside her purse, and was cited for obstructing for giving police her sister’s name when asked to identify herself.
8 Officers responded to an apartment building in the 7900 block of South Wildwood Drive, where a man was reportedly lying on the ground smoking marijuana while yelling and screaming about Donald Trump, drugs, and police at about 9:45 a.m. Dec. 9. He was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
9 A 26-year-old woman and a 9-year-old girl were taken to the hospital for treatment of facial injuries after the vehicle they were riding in went off the roadway and struck a traffic pole in the median in the 11000 block of South Chicago Road at 11:15 p.m. Dec. 11. The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Racine man, was cited for driving too fast for conditions and driving with a revoked license.
10 A vehicle was scratched in the 7600 block of South Logan Avenue between early morning and late evening Dec. 5. Damage is estimated at $2,000.
11 A man who was seen using a snow plow marking stake to vandalize his girlfriend’s vehicle at Bootz Saloon and Grill, 8950 S. 27th St., was taken into custody and cited for vandalism at 2:45 a.m. Dec. 10. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $750.
12 Emergency personnel responded to a cooler fire at Pick ’n Save, 8770 S. Howell Ave., at 10:15 p.m. Dec. 6. A cooler containing coffee beverages near a cashier caught fire, and the fire spread to some nearby racks of food. Everyone inside the building was evacuated, and the fire department put out the flames. A damage estimate was unavailable at the time of the report.
13 Police and firefighters responded to a dryer fire at a residence in the 8500 block of South Breaburn Drive at about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10. The officer who first arrived at the home put the fire out, and the fire department took the burned dryer outside and aired out the home. The residence sustained a small amount of smoke damage.
14 A male was cited for disorderly conduct in the 9400 block of South Northbrook Boulevard for making threatening statements towards his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend at about 5:15 p.m. Dec. 6. The male allegedly told his ex that he was going to get a gun and come after them.
15 Police responded to Yen Hwa Chinese Restaurant, 2345 W. Ryan Road, after a customer called 911 to report he received the wrong order at 2 p.m. Dec. 10. The customer was apparently upset that the restaurant made his order wrong and then refused to refund his money. He was told that police cannot force the restaurant to refund his money and was advised to leave the business.
16 An intoxicated man who was yelling and swearing at customers inside Subway, 2031 W. Ryan Road, and then cussed at police officers who were called to the business was taken into custody and cited for disorderly conduct at about 5:45 p.m. Dec. 10.
Oak Creek police assisted the fire department with 18 rescue calls and four fire calls between Dec. 6 and Dec. 12.
