Burglary

1. Police responding to a burglar alarm at a residence in the 8700 block of South Avian Way discovered someone kicked in in a door in an attempt to enter the building at about 11:05 a.m. Jan. 6. According to police, the suspects fled when the alarm activated, and nothing was stolen.

Theft

2. A 36-year-old female employee was taken into custody for stealing $400 out of a cash register at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 5:35 p.m. Jan. 3. She was booked, cited for theft and released.

3. Police received a report that $699 worth of merchandise was shoplifted at Lowe’s, 7027 S. 27th St., at 12:05 p.m. Jan. 3.

4. A catalytic converter was stolen off a vehicle parked at Planet Fitness, 6529 S. 27th St., between 5:25 and 7:05 p.m. Jan. 5.

5. A catalytic converter was stolen off a vehiclea at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., between 6:45 and 7 p.m. Jan. 5.

6. A boy (age 14) was taken into custody for stealing his mother’s $650 iPhone 6 and trying to assault his father in the 3200 block of West Skamra Avenue at about 9 a.m. Jan. 6. He is facing possible state charges of theft and disorderly conduct.

7. Two males and one female shoplifted about 42 small bottles of Crown Royal and Hennessy, valued at about $600, by concealing them in their pants and sweatshirts at Walgreens, 7130 S. 76th St., and then fled in a silver Mazda at about 7 p.m. Jan. 7. Police identified the female suspect, a 20-year-old Milwaukee woman, through the license plate number and found she later posted the stolen alcohol for sale on her personal Facebook page.

Assault

8. A 34-year-old man was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery for assaulting his father and pushing him to the ground in the 11100 block of West Loomis Road at about 2:45 a.m. Jan. 6.
