1 About $75 and a $200 diamond heart necklace were stolen from a home in the 7700 block of South 13th Street between Dec. 30 and Jan. 1. The theft occurred while the residents were out of town and someone was taking care of the family dog.

2 Sixteen batteries, valued at $1,532, were stolen at United Rentals, 9401 S. 13th St., between 5 p.m. Dec. 30 and 1:30 p.m. Jan. 3. The batteries were cut off four scissor jacks at the business.

3 A unidentified man shoplifted $160 worth of Red Bull energy drinks at Meijer, 171 W. Town Square Way, and fled in a minivan at about 2:35 p.m. Jan. 5.

4 A man was cited for shoplifting $251 worth of meters, thermometers and lasers after he was seen stuffing them into his coat pockets at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 8.

5 A Green Bay Packer bag containing about $300 worth of personal items was stolen after it was placed outside a vehicle at Motel 6, 1201 W. College Ave., at about 9:10 p.m. Jan. 8.


6 An intoxicated woman was taken into custody for battery for hitting a bouncer in the face several times at Bootz Saloon & Grill, 8950 S. 27th St., at about 1:40 a.m. Jan. 8. The woman was arguing with her husband inside the bar when the bouncer tried to separate them. She is facing a charge of battery.


7 A 32-year-old Racine man was taken to the hospital for evaluation after his vehicle left the roadway and flipped over in the 10400 block of South Howell Avenue at about 11:10 p.m. Jan. 4. A witness told police she saw the vehicle was weaving in-between lanes before it left the road. The driver was found to be intoxicated, and was taken into custody for OWI. A breath test indicated a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.15.


8 A 47-year-old Cudahy woman and her passenger, a 24-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital for treatment of chest and neck pain after their vehicle made a left turn from East Rawson Avenue onto South Pennsylvania Avenue and collided with a vehicle traveling west on Rawson at about 6 p.m. Jan. 7. The Cudahy woman was cited for failure to yield the right of way while making a left turn and no insurance.


9 Police went to Mobil Gas, 9510 S. 27th St., after a credit card skimmer was found on a gas pump at 4:05 p.m. Jan. 3. The skimmer was removed and placed into evidence.

10 Emergency personnel responded to Starbucks Coffee Co., 2015 W. Ryan Road, after a 911 caller reported a male sitting inside a silver Pontiac was making “erratic movements” and twitching back and forth at 9:25 a.m. Jan. 8. Police discovered the man was not suffering from any medical issues, but was merely singing to himself inside his car, and no medical help was needed.

11 A male school bus driver for Riteway Bus Service was taken into custody and cited for disorderly conduct for refusing to allow a middle school student off the bus in the 10000 block of South Cindy Lane, and then closed the door on the child’s father’s arm when he tried to confront the driver about his behavior at about 4 p.m. Jan. 9. The bus driver drove the child back to Oak Creek Middle School, where police reviewed surveillance video and took the bus driver into custody.

12 A woman was cited for escort without a license after she emailed a police officer a quote for $200 per hour for prostitution services at Comfort Suites, 6362 S. 13th St., during a knock-and-talk at about 6:50 p.m. Jan. 9.

Oak Creek police assisted the fire department with 27 rescue calls between Jan. 3 and Jan. 9.
