1 Two males shoplifted a display containing about $250 worth of lighters off the front counter at Andy’s, 5120 W. Ryan Road, at about 4:40 p.m. Jan. 23. One of the men distracted an employee while the other stole the lighters.

2 A man shoplifted a $150 Bosch diamond saw blade at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 24, and then tried to return it for cash at the Oak Creek Menards about 10 minutes later. Employees at the Oak Creek store confiscated the blade, and the man fled the store. Police have identified the suspect.

3 A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody for shoplifting $561 worth of Milwaukee tool kits at The Home Depot, 6489 S. 27th St., at about 4:30 p.m. Jan. 24. He is facing a state charge of retail theft and was taken to jail.

4 Four 16-inch center caps and four tires were stolen off a pickup at Highway 100 & Loomis Road Auto Sales, 9923 W. St. Martins Road, between 12:55 and 1:25 a.m. Jan. 25. Police have surveillance footage of the theft.

5 A man and a woman shoplifted $1,384 worth of merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 3:45 a.m. Jan. 26. The suspects, a 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both of Florida, were taken into custody in New Berlin later that day.

6 A catalytic converter was stolen off a vehicle at Milwaukee Burger Company, 6421 S. 27th St., between 9:30 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. Jan. 28.


7 A 45-year-old Franklin man who allegedly struck and threatened his wife inside their residence, and then got into his vehicle and drove off was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery and OWI in the 10200 block of West Cascade Drive at about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 23.

8 Police received a report that a woman was assaulted in a parking lot in the 8200 block of South 51st Street at 8:40 p.m. Jan. 27. According to police, the woman was struck and her hair was pulled. The investigation is ongoing.


9 A 28-year-old Franklin man was taken into custody for second-offense OWI and for having a warrant for disorderly conduct during a traffic stop on South Whitnall Edge Road and West Cortez Circle at about 2:30 a.m. Jan. 24. A breath test indicated a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.12. He was booked and cited for OWI, violating a stop sign and expired registration, and was released after posting bail.


10 An SUV was scratched at Showtime Cinema, 8910 S. 102nd St., between 7 and 9:30 p.m. Jan. 24. The vehicle owner told police he had an argument with a 35- to 45-year-old white male driving an older model tan/silver Buick following a road-rage incident before he went inside the movie theater. Police reviewed surveillance video that showed the man scratching the victim’s vehicle, and then leaving the parking lot.

11 A vehicle was driven over the lawns and shoulders throughout the Park Meadows Condo Complex, 4163 W. College Ave., causing about $1,500 worth of damage between the evening of Jan. 20 and the morning of Jan. 21. According to police, tire ruts were seen in almost every court, exit/entrance and drive through area, and the vehicle purposely drove on the sidewalks.


12 A resident in the 10500 block of West Cortez Circle reported she was the victim of a fraud at 6:35 p.m. Jan. 25. The woman allegedly sent five money orders via Western Union to a man in Texas because she believed she had won $1 million in a daily sweepstakes for an online game. She told police she sent about $2,800 before realizing it was a scam.

13 Police started pursuing a red Dodge Neon that was cutting other vehicles off and driving about 20 mph over the speed limit in the 7300 block of South Lovers Lane Road at 12:20 p.m. Jan. 27. The vehicle fled from police, reaching speeds of 65 mph, and went through a red light. Police stopped chasing the vehicle at Copeland Ridge and Highway 100 due to traffic. The driver is described as a white male in his 30s with a shaved head and white-framed glasses. Police identified the owner of the vehicle and are trying to locate the driver.

14 A 30-year-old Illinois man was forcibly removed from On The Border, 10741 S. 27th St., for causing a disturbance by threatening and yelling at the bartender at about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 29. He was taken into custody after he swung at police officers, kicked the squad door and spit on the window. He also kicked the interview room door and window and urinated on the interview room floor  He is facing local and state charges of disorderly conduct.
