1 A man reported he was robbed at gunpoint inside his vehicle on South 108th Street and West Ridge Road at about 4:55 a.m. Jan. 22. The man told police a black Honda or Hyundai sedan pulled in front of his vehicle, forcing him to stop. One man then got out of the sedan and got into the caller’s vehicle, threatened him with a handgun and stole his wallet and cellphone. The suspect then got back into the sedan and fled. The suspect with the gun was described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 120 pounds, in his late 20s with light facial hair.
2 Tires and rims were stolen off two vehicles parked in the rear lot at Holz Motors, 5961 S. 108th Place, during early morning Jan. 23. Loss is estimated at $10,000.
3 A man shoplifted a box containing 200 torch lighters and 12 torch-style lighters, valued at about $400, at Hometown Gas, 5200 S. 108th St., at about 4:15 p.m. Jan. 28. The suspect, a 26-year-old homeless man, was taken into custody at a motel in Franklin, brought back to Hales Corners and cited for shoplifting.
4 A 40-year-old man was taken into custody for third-offense OWI after his vehicle collided with another on South 104th Street and West Grange Avenue at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 18. He was also cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and having open intoxicants inside his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw.
Hales Corners police assisted the fire department with four rescue calls between Jan. 16 and Jan. 29.
