Theft

1 An in-dash CD player, valued at $150, was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., prior to 5:05 p.m. Jan. 28.

2 An iPhone 7 Plus was stolen at the US Cellular Store, 5275 S. 76th St., prior to 7:20 p.m. Jan. 30.

3 Eleven adults and one juvenile were cited for shoplifting at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., between Jan. 26 and Feb. 2.

Assault

4 A man was taken into custody for domestic violence/strangulation in the 5100 block of Maplewood Drive at 11:35 a.m. Jan. 27.

Fire

5 Police received a report of a trash bin fire in the 6200 block of Fleetwood Court at 4:25 p.m. Feb. 2. When police arrived, flames were coming out of the construction bin, which was about 35 feet away from a building. The fire was quickly extinguished. No injuries or damage was reported.

Other

6 Emergency personnel went to the construction area behind Jimmy K’s on South 68th Street and West Edgerton Avenue after a 911 caller reported a man was lying on the ground and yelling for help at about 10:20 p.m. Jan. 28. The man, who was intoxicated, was taken to the hospital for treatment of a possible broken ankle. When police found evidence that the man was living in the construction area, he was ordered in to the police department to face a possible charge of unlawfully entering a construction zone.

7 A male student at Greendale High School, 6801 Southway, was taken into custody for interfering with an officer after he fled the school and led police on a foot pursuit at about 11:20 a.m. Jan. 31. Police were asked to go to the school for a welfare check on the student, who was believed to be on drugs.
