OAK CREEK - A man who helped two strangers change a tire at a local gas station called police after realizing his money and cell phone were stolen by the seemingly grateful driver.

The man told police he helped the couple change a tire on their vehicle at Kwik Trip, 7880 S. 10th St., between 8:15 and 8:45 p.m. After the tire was changed the driver gave the man a hug for helping him, according to the police report.

However, after the couple drove off, the man realized his $650 Samsung Galaxy S7 cell phone and $30 were missing from his right jacket pocket.

The driver is described as a six-foot-tall, 170-pound Hispanic male with long, curly hair.

Police reviewed surveillance video of the lot, but the footage did not show a clear picture of the suspect.
