1 Someone tried to steal a safe out of a bedroom of a residence in the 7200 block of West Ryan Road between 12:30 p.m. March 18 and 6:20 p.m. March 19. The rear window on the residence was smashed.


2 A man shoplifted 11 boxes of energy drinks by concealing them under his jacket at CVS Pharmacy, 5220 W. Rawson Ave., at 1:30 p.m. March 27. The suspect fled the lot in a blue Nissan Versa.

3 Tools were stolen out of an open barn/garage in the 3500 block of West South County line Road between March 24 and 8 a.m. March 27.

4 A $500 iPhone 6S was stolen from a student at Franklin High School, 8222 S. 51st St., at about 10 a.m. March 28.

5 Tax documents were stolen from a residence in the 3500 block of West Rawson Avenue prior to 9:55 p.m. March 28. The theft occurred sometime during the past six months, according to the resident.

6 A man stole a gym member’s wallet at Planet Fitness, 6529 S. 27th St., at about 1 a.m. March 31. The suspect, described as a 5-foot, 9-inch-tall black male in his 20s with thinning hair, asked an employee to cut the lock off his locker because he forgot his combination. After the employee cut off the lock and asked to see his ID from the wallet he took out of the locker, he ran out of the business and fled the lot in an older, rusted white station wagon-type vehicle.

7 Three people shoplifted 20 cans of baby formula, valued at $338, at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., and fled the lot in a black, four-door SUV at about 9:50 a.m. March 31.

8 A 42-year-old woman was taken into custody for shoplifting $471 worth of baby formula at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 2:50 p.m. March 31. She had been positively identified as the suspect in the theft, which occurred on March 20.

9 Two people broke the lock off the airbrush case at Hobby Lobby, 6803 S. 27th St., and shoplifted over $1,000 worth of merchandise at about 6:45 p.m. March 31. The suspects, described as a Hispanic male in his 30s and a short, white male in his 40s, left the lot in an older, white Pontiac Grand Am.

10 A 21-year-old Washington man was taken into custody for shoplifting a $479 Dewalt power tool kit at Lowe’s, 7027 S. 27th St., at about 5:40 p.m. April 2. The man was chased down by police and taken into custody.

11 Two backpacks containing two sets of boxing gloves, hand wraps, a towel and paperwork were stolen out of unlocked vehicle in the lot at Dunham’s Sports, 6525 S. 27th St., at about 7:10 p.m. April 3.


12 A 23-year-old woman was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery for punching a 29-year-old man in the face at American Motel, 9335 S. 27th St., at about 2:30 a.m. March 28.

13 Police are seeking a 33-year-old man who allegedly choked a 24-year-old woman, causing her to almost lose consciousness, and then punched her several times in the face during an argument at Park Motel, 7273 S. 27th St., at about 8:25 p.m. March 28. The suspect fled on foot, leaving his vehicle behind. He is facing a possible felony charge of domestic violence/strangulation.

14 A 60-year-old Greendale woman was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery for injuring her sister by grabbing her around the neck and throwing her onto the floor during an argument at a residence in the 9700 block of South 31st Street at about 5:35 p.m. April 2.


15 Police received a report that the steering column was ripped out of a 1999 GMC Sierra parked in the 8200 block of South 88th Street at 7:40 a.m. April 3.


16 A 39-year-old Hales Corners man who allegedly passed out after huffing inside the men’s bathroom at Kwik Trip, 10750 W. Speedway Drive, was cited for disorderly conduct and banned from the business at 11:25 a.m. March 28.

17 A 49-year-old man who was seen huffing a spray can while waiting for a bus at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and obstructing for giving police a false name at about 10:30 a.m. April 1. He was also taken into custody for having warrants with the Greendale Police Department for inhaling a harmful substance and possessing open intoxicants in public.
