1 Six boxes of roof shingles were stolen from a property in the 4100 block of West McGinnis Drive between at about 4:30 a.m. April 6.
2 A 2005 black Dodge Neon, valued at $3,000, and a cellphone were stolen at the Plaza Motel, 8151 S. 27th St., between 2 and 10:40 a.m. April 9. The victim told police a 25-year-old black female who was with him at the motel stole his vehicle and phone while he was sleeping.
3 A 48-year-old man was taken into custody for domestic violence and disorderly conduct (damage to property) for allegedly hitting his wife in the face, pulling blinds off windows, smashing out a window with a baseball bat and smashing her cellphone in the 6700 block of South 50th Street at 11:45 p.m. April 4.
4 A 35-year-old Franklin man was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery for pushing and shoving his girlfriend at Staybridge Suites, 9575 S. 27th St., at 3:30 a.m. April 9.
5 A 60-year-old man was taken into custody for OWI in the 7600 block of South 70th Street at about 11 a.m. April 8. Police responded to his home after a caller reported the man tore off the front bumper of his vehicle while backing out of his garage, and then got out of his vehicle and tossed the bumper into the garage. He then continued to back out over the grass because he missed the driveway. A breath test indicated a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.20. He was cited and released.
6 A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman who was seen concealing merchandise in her backpack at Hobby Lobby, 6803 S. 27th St., was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and discharging bodily fluids at a safety worker at 4:30 p.m. April 1. The woman fought, scratched and spit at police officers before and after she was taken into custody.
7 A 35-year-old woman was taken into custody for a probation violation for making threatening phone calls to her ex-husband in the 6500 block of South 35th Street at about 7:55 p.m. April 6. She was arrested at her residence in the 7900 block of South Scepter Drive and taken to jail. A 43-year-old man was also taken into custody for a probation violation and taken to jail.
8 A 31-year-old man was taken into custody for disorderly conduct while armed for threatening police officers with a hammer in the 7800 block of South Scepter Drive at about 2 p.m. April 8. Police responded to the home after his mother reported her son sent her a disturbing text message. An officer had to deploy an electronic control device on him to take him into custody, and he was taken to the hospital for a mental and medical evaluation.
9 A 42-year-old New Berlin man was cited for disorderly conduct for causing a loud disturbance by cussing and yelling at a 43-year-old Franklin man, and striking a 55-year-old Franklin man in the head several times, on West Rawson and West Hawthorne avenues at about 1:40 p.m. April 9.
