Theft

1 Jewelry was stolen from a residence in the 5600 block of Oakwood Circle prior to 3:45 p.m. March 31, possibly in sometime in December 2016.

2 A black male wearing a red vest, a red sweater and jeans shoplifted seven pairs of Polo jeans and 12 Polo shirts, valued at $1,163, by concealing them in a canvas bag at Macy’s, 5400 S. 76th St., at about 10:10 a.m. April 1.

3 Four adults and one juvenile were cited for shoplifting at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., between March 31 and April 6.

Drug possession

4 Officers responding to a report that a 25-year-old woman was unconscious and turning blue at a residence in the 5400 block of Rainbow Drive took the woman and a man into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia at 7:15 a.m. April 4.

OWI

5 Police investigating a suspicious, occupied vehicle pulled over to the side of the road in the 5900 block of West Loomis Road took the female driver into custody for OWI at about 3:20 a.m. April 3. Two male passengers inside the vehicle were cited for underage drinking/possession of alcohol, and one of the males was taken into custody for possession of an electronic weapon.

Fire

6 Emergency personnel responded to a report that flames were seen coming out of a home in the 8200 block of Flagstone Court at 5:50 p.m. April 4. The fire, which was extinguished before police arrived, was caused by fireworks being thrown into a plastic garden storage container, which melted the entire receptacle. A citation for negligent handling of burning materials was issued.

Other

7 A man was taken into custody for domestic violence/disorderly conduct for threatening his wife via text message after the two had a verbal argument in the 6000 block of Trail Ridge Court at 8:45 p.m. April 1.

8 A caller reported finding bullet holes in the exterior of his residence in the 5400 block of Olympia Drive at 6:20 p.m. April 4. Police located bullet holes in the exterior and interior of the home and a neighboring residence, and a bullet was also found inside a mattress in the caller’s home. The case is still under investigation.
