1 Two males who tried to shoplift several iPhones pulled a handgun on an employee who confronted them outside Metro PCS, 6508 S. 27th St., and then fled the lot in an older white, rusted Honda Civic with temporary license plates at about 12:05 p.m. April 14. The suspects, two black males wearing baseball caps, were unable to get any of the phones off the security devices and left with nothing. Police later learned the same suspects may have been involved in robberies at two other area Metro PCS stores.


2 Police went to a residence in the 7400 block of South Logan Avenue after a 911 caller reported a man was rummaging through a garage at 5:05 a.m. April 12. When one of the residents confronted the man, he jumped into a dark-colored sedan that was parked and running at the end of the driveway and left. Nothing appeared to be missing from the car or garage.

3 Police responded to a home in the 8000 block of South Grewen Drive after a 911 caller reported a man was inside her garage, stealing items out of her vehicle at 10:30 p.m. April 13. The suspect, a white male in his late 20s or early 30s wearing a white knit hat and dark jacket, ran out of her garage when the resident went outside to close her garage door. A $13 purse, a driver’s license and a $55 Columbia brand jacket were stolen out of her car.


4 A drawstring bag containing $1,000 cash, a $70 wallet, credit and bank cards and Social Security card, was stolen off a chair after it was accidentally left behind by a patron at Applebee’s, 7135 S. 13th St., between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. April 11.

5 Two men were taken into custody for shoplifting when an officer walked into Pilot Travel Center, 2031 W. Ryan Road, just as one of the men was concealing Badger hats and batteries in a black duffel bag at about 1:20 a.m. April 12. The men matched the description of the suspects who shoplifted hats at the business the two previous nights.

6 A 2015 Nissan Altima valued at $14,000 was stolen in the 800 block of East Manitowoc Avenue between 3:30 and 8:30 a.m. April 12.

7 A $50 gift card was stolen out of a vehicle in the 8500 block of South Whitney Drive between 6:30 p.m. April 12 and 6 a.m. April 13.

8 About $1,820 worth of items were stolen out of a truck in the 8000 block of South Grewen Drive between 9 p.m. April 13 and 1:30 p.m. April 14.

9 A man shoplifted a total of $516 worth of liquor at Meijer, 171 W. Town Square Way, during three separate incidents between 2:25 a.m. April 13 and 4:45 a.m. April 15. The suspect has been identified.

10 A man was cited for shoplifting $188 worth of copper wire at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at noon April 17.

11 A leather wallet containing $200 and credit cards, keys and a $200 Samsung cellphone were stolen out of a locked truck at South Shore Cinema, 7261 S. 13th St., between 11:50 a.m. and 1:05 p.m. April 17. Surveillance footage captured images of the theft.


12 Two boys were cited for battery after a fight at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, at 9:30 a.m. April 11.

13 A man was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery in the 1100 block of East Keri Lane for throwing his girlfriend to the floor, causing her to hit her head and arm against a kitchen cabinet, at about 9 p.m. April 11.

14 Police are seeking a man who punched his girlfriend in the head and pulled her hair after a dispute in the 6900 block of South Howell Avenue at about 4:10 p.m. April 14. He is facing charges of domestic violence/battery.


15 A 26-year-old Oak Creek man was taken into custody for second-offense OWI and driving with a revoked license after his vehicle struck a curb in the 7600 block of South 10th Street and hit a sign at the U.S. Postal Service annex at about 2:40 a.m. April 12. A breath test indicated a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.15.

16 A man was taken into custody for OWI after his vehicle was pulled over for traveling north in the southbound lanes on South Howell and West Rawson avenues at 12:25 a.m. April 13. A breath test indicated a preliminary BAC of 0.10.

17 A man was taken into custody for fourth-offense OWI and driving with a revoked license when his vehicle was pulled over for an unsafe lane deviation in the 9000 block of South Howell Avenue at 12:40 a.m. April 14. A breath test indicated a preliminary BAC of 0.12.

18 A man whose vehicle was pulled over for traveling 64 mph in a 45-mph zone was taken into custody for third-offense OWI at the Ryan Road park-and-ride lot, 1450 W. Ryan Road, at 2:35 a.m. April 15. He is also facing state charges of being intoxicated while armed after police found a loaded handgun inside his vehicle. A breath test indicated a preliminary BAC of 0.15.

19 A 56-year-old Oak Creek man was taken into custody for OWI after he failed to negotiate a turn, crossed over the oncoming traffic lane and drove his vehicle off the roadway and into a ditch in the 1100 block of West Dover Drive at about 4:15 a.m. April 15. He admitted drinking four or five beers before driving. A breath test indicated a preliminary BAC of 0.12.


20 A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken to the hospital for evaluation after her vehicle crashed into a vehicle that ran a red light on West Rawson Avenue and South 10th Street at 7:55 a.m. April 14. A 34-year-old Muskego man was cited for a red light violation.

21 Several people were taken to the hospital for evaluation after a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a van, forcing it into a pond on South Howell Avenue and West Fairfield Drive at 1:25 p.m. April 14. A 17-year-old Oak Creek girl was cited for failure to yield the right of way.


22 A window on a vehicle was smashed in the 6400 block of South Crabapple Court between 1 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. April 15. Damage is estimated at $250.


23 A man threatened a female employee at Spring Mobile, 8241 S. Howell Ave., at about 1:45 p.m. April 11. The man apparently got upset because he thought the female employee “had an attitude” with him. He left the store and came back a short time later and got into the employee’s face while she was speaking to other customers. He was escorted out of the business. Police are following up with a citation for disorderly conduct.

24 A boy was taken into custody for disorderly conduct (state charge) for having an Air Soft gun in his possession at Oak Creek East Middle School, 9330 S. Shepard Ave., at 1:10 p.m. April 12.

25 Police went to a home in the 8600 block of South Glen Forest Court after a caller saw via a surveillance camera that someone was rummaging through his things at 10:35 p.m. April 15. The surveillance video showed a man in a robe was inside the caller’s living room, looking at the camera system with a flashlight. The man, who was the caller’s neighbor, was taken into custody for criminal trespass to a dwelling.

Oak Creek police assisted the fire department with 28 rescue calls between April 10 and April 17.
