Robbery

1 Police received a report that a man threatened an employee with a pocket knife after the employee tried to stop him and another man from shoplifting two bags of fried chicken, valued at about $15, at Pick ’n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., at about 6:45 p.m. April 21. Police have identified one of the suspects.

Burglary

2 An empty cash drawer and a money bag containing $250 were stolen during a burglary at Aqua Salon and Spa, 7435 S. Howell Ave., prior to 8:20 a.m. April 19. Surveillance video showed a man threw a piece of metal through two glass doors at about 1:25 a.m. to get into the business. He came back out same doors a couple minutes later and fled in a vehicle.

Theft

3 A wallet containing $140, credit and debit cards and a police badge was stolen after the owner accidentally left it in a restroom at Milwaukee Area Technical College, 6665 S. Howell Ave., between 8:25 and 8:45 a.m. April 18.

4 Two black males shoplifted a $260 security system at Meijer, 171 W. Town Square Way, and left the lot in a white Chevy Cypress cargo van with a red stripe on the side at about 4:15 a.m. April 17.

5 A male shoplifted $320 worth of liquor at Meijer, 171 W. Town Square Way, at about midnight April 19. The suspect was identified from past thefts at the store, and the case is being reviewed by the district attorney’s office.

6 A girl was taken into custody after she and a male concealed several electronic items at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., and then tried to steal a woman’s purse at 4:45 p.m. April 19. The girl was found in the parking lot at Walmart, where she admitted shoplifting a computer mouse, but refused to identify herself to police. She was cited for shoplifting and obstructing, and was taken to juvenile detention for having a warrant. The male was not found.

7 A man shoplifted an iPhone 7 Plus by taking it off a display mount at Sprint, 8171 S. Howell Ave., at 5:55 p.m. April 20. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s wearing a white chef shirt and black/white checkered pants.

8 Police responded to Candlewood Suites, 6440 S. 13th St., after a 911 caller reported two women stole $110 and cellphone at about 4:20 a.m. April 22. The caller said the women went into the bathroom together, then ran out of the hotel. The caller and another man, his friend, chased the women into the parking lot, where one of the women sprayed the caller’s friend with pepper spray before fleeing the lot in a car. They had just met the women in a downtown Milwaukee restaurant.

9 A man shoplifted $323 worth of alcohol at Meijer, 171 W. Town Square Way, at about 2 a.m. April 22. The suspect has been identified from past liquor thefts at the business.

10 A woman was cited for shoplifting $437 worth of meat, diapers, paper towels and other items at Woodman’s, 8131 S. Howell Ave., at about 7:15 p.m. April 22.

OWI

11 A man was taken into custody for second-offense OWI and driving with a revoked license after his vehicle was pulled over for making an illegal U-turn and an improper lane change in the 2000 block of West Rawson Avenue at 2:05 a.m. April 23. A breath test indicated a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.12.

Accidents

12 A 31-year-old Milwaukee man was taken to the hospital for treatment of neck and back pain after his vehicle was struck by a vehicle that pulled out from a gas station parking lot on South 13th Street and West Ryan Road at 12:10 p.m. April 24. The other driver, a 24-year-old Milwaukee woman, was also taken to the hospital for treatment of chest pain.

Vandalism

13 A rear overhead garage door was damaged, possibly during an attempted burglary, at Milwaukee Garage, 8041 S. 13th St., between 5 p.m. April 18 and 9:15 a.m. April 19. Damage is estimated at $2,000.

14 A car was vandalized in the 200 block of East Field Stone Circle between April 19 and April 21. It appeared someone dented the hood and roof by walking on it, and used a metal object to scratch it. Damage is estimated at $500.

Other

15 A man who came into the Oak Creek Police Station and requested a police escort to retrieve some property from his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the 300 block of West Lagoon Lane is facing charges of disorderly conduct, resisting/obstructing and bail jumping for creating a disturbance by screaming and swearing at his ex, refusing to obey officer’s commands, and trying to walk away from police during his arrest at about 7 p.m. April 20. He was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pain, but was found walking in down the middle of the road on South 27th Street about two hours later. He refused to get out of the street and became combative with police, forcing an officer to deploy an electronic control device in order to take him into custody. He was then taken to the hospital a second time for a mental evaluation.

16 Police received a report that a bag containing 1.5 grams of cocaine was found inside a rental car in the 8100 block of South Woodridge Drive at 6:25 p.m. April 21. The renter called police after she found the drugs while familiarizing herself with the vehicle. Police confiscated the cocaine and destroyed it.

17 A woman buying cigarettes threatened an employee who asked to see her identification/proof of age at 7-Eleven, 1225 W. Rawson Ave., at about 2:40 p.m. April 22. Police identified the woman through the vehicle registration and she is being cited for disorderly conduct.

Oak Creek police assisted the fire department with 15 rescue calls and five fire calls between April 18 and April 24.
