Burglary

1 A 40-inch Vizio TV was stolen out of a garage in the 10100 block of South 34th Street between 10:10 p.m. May 5 and 9:30 a.m. May 6. The garage door was open when the theft occurred.

2 Someone tried to break into a residence in the 3500 block of West Rawson Avenue at 9:30 a.m. May 11. The glass window on a door was broken and a door alarm sounded, but no one entered the home.

Theft

3 A $50 Calvin Klein wallet containing a driver’s license, credit and debit cards and about $300 in cash was stolen at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., prior to 8:30 p.m. May 9. The victim told police she paid for her items at the register, and when she got home she realized her wallet was missing.

4 A pair of Beats by Dre headphones were stolen at Verizon Wireless, 6531 S. 27th St., at about 5:30 p.m. May 10.

5 A 31-year-old man was taken into custody for shoplifting $255 worth of merchandise at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 6:40 p.m. May 10.

6 A 25-year-old woman reported that a man stole her purse after he dropped her off at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., to buy condoms at about 2:45 a.m. May 13. The woman told police when she walked out of Walmart she discovered the man’s 2004 Buick Park Avenue Ultra was gone. The $20 purse contained a $100 cellphone and charger, a wallet, three pair of ear buds and her state ID card. Police are trying to locate the 33-year-old Milwaukee man.

7 Two lock boxes containing two doses of methadone and a wallet containing $36 were stolen out of a van parked at Sunrise Motel, 9347 S. 27th St., between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 13.

Assault

8 A 43-year-old man was taken into custody and cited for battery for pushing his stepmother at his residence in the 3500 block of West Rawson Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. May 12.

9 A 17-year-old girl was taken into custody for battery for hitting her sister on the head in the parking lot at Pick ’n Save, 7201 S. 76th St., at 9:35 p.m. May 12.

Drug possession

10 A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct for causing a loud disturbance by fighting with a woman at the Embassy Motel, 8253 S. 27th St., at 2:15 a.m. May 15.

Accidents

11 A 48-year-old Texas man was taken to the hospital for treatment after his car rear-ended another vehicle in the 2900 block of West Ryan Road at 9 a.m. May 13. He was cited for following too closely and for possession of marijuana.

Vandalism

12 Cap shingles were ripped off the roof of a pavilion at Legend Park, 8050 S. Legend Drive., between May 4 and May 9.

13 A 44-year-old man was cited for vandalism for throwing a Pyrex dish through his bedroom window at Woods Complex, 3311 W. College Ave., at 1:15 p.m. May 10. Damage is estimated at $300.

Other

14 A dark-colored van with dark, tinted windows was pursued by police after it failed to pull over for a speeding violation in the 8500 block of South 27th Street at 1:25 a.m. May 11. The van made a U-turn to go east on Ryan Road, ran a red light and reached speeds of up to 90 miles an hour. Police chased the van for a little over two miles before losing sight of it on the freeway. Greenfield police picked up the chase on West Layton, and then north on Interstate 94, until the vehicle went west on Wisconsin Avenue and Water Street. It was later discovered the vehicle, a blue 2004 Honda Odyssey, was stolen in Milwaukee.

15 A 58-year-old, intoxicated Franklin woman who was yelling, slamming doors and fighting in the hallway of an apartment building in the 3600 block of West College Avenue was taken into custody for disorderly conduct at about midnight May 12.
