1 A burglar entered a home through an unlocked screen door and stole a purse in the 8300 block of South River Terrace Drive prior to 8:35 a.m. July 3. The pursed contained the keys to a 2007 Honda CRV parked in the driveway. As a result, the vehicle was also stolen.


2 A wallet containing about $20 was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 7500 block of South Riverview Road between 1 p.m. June 29 and 4 p.m. July 3.

3 An American flag was stolen from a residence in the 7900 block of South 47th Street prior to 11:50 a.m. July 4.

4 About $6 in change was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 11900 block of West Somerset Drive between 10:30 p.m. July 4 and 8:15 a.m. July 5.

5 Three unlocked vehicles were rummaged through in the 12200 block of West James Avenue between midnight and 10 a.m. July 5. An unknown amount of change was stolen from the vehicles.

6 A purse was stolen out of a woman’s shopping cart at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., between 8:20 and 9 p.m. July 6.

7 A wallet was stolen out of a woman’s shopping cart at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., prior to 10:20 a.m. July 9. The woman told police she believed she accidentally left it in a cart in the parking lot.

8 A gym bag was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 8500 block of West Beacon Hill Drive prior to 5 p.m. July 10.


9 A 41-year-old man allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face several times and choked her at a residence in the 6300 block of South 27th Street, and fled before police arrived at about 12:30 a.m. July 4. He was located at about 9 a.m. and taken to jail. He is facing possible charges of domestic violence/battery-strangulation.

Drug possession

10 A 25-year-old Milwaukee woman who was seen walking in and out of traffic on South 27th Street and West Briarwood Drive and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol was taken to the hospital for evaluation at about 12:45 p.m. July 9. She was later cited for obstructing and possession of drug paraphernalia.


11 Officers responding to a report of a dispute over a parking spot in the 9100 block of West Drexel Avenue took a 33-year-old Milwaukee woman into custody for second-offense OWI (drugs) at 9:40 p.m. July 4. She was transported to the hospital for a blood draw and was taken to jail.

12 A 45-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken into custody for OWI (drugs) and possession of narcotics during a traffic stop in the 9600 block of South 27th Street at 10:05 p.m. July 7. She was also cited for driving with a suspended license, driving with suspended vehicle registration and no insurance. She was taken to the hospital for a blood draw.

13 A 30-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken into custody for OWI and driving with a revoked license on South Lovers Lane Road and West Venture Drive at 11:30 p.m. July 10. The woman allegedly drove her vehicle through a wooded area on 92nd Street and Westlake in Greendale. Some parts of her vehicle were left at the scene.  


14 A generator at Outlook Management, 6495 S. 27th St., was shot with firearm between June 30 and July 3.

15 One window screen was cut and another was damaged at a residence in the 10500 block of West Cortez Circle during an apparent burglary attempt between 4 p.m. July 7 and 5 p.m. July 9.


16 A garage was damaged in a fire started by two boys who were playing with matches and a large sparkler in the 7100 block of West Drexel Avenue at about 12:25 p.m. July 3. The fire, which was extinguished before police were called, started when the sparkler ignited a cardboard box. Damage is estimated at $1,000.


17 A caller reported a motorcycle and two cars were racing through the area in the 4100 block of West Victory Creek Drive at about 11 p.m. July 3. When police arrived, the motorcycle refused to stop for officers, and police pursued it for about two miles. The pursuit ended in the 5100 block of Eastway in Greendale. Police have identified the motorcyclist and are following up with citations/charges.

18 A 16-year-old Milwaukee boy who was hitchhiking on South 76th Street and West Ryan Road was taken into custody at about 8:10 a.m., after police discovered he was one of the suspects in a break-in at Braeger Ford in Greenfield. The suspects allegedly stole a vehicle and led police on a high-speed chase at about 5:30 a.m. that morning before they crashed at the Industrial Loop at Loomis Roadand College Avenue. The two occupants fled on foot.

19 A 59-year-old man who allegedly threatened to pour acid over his wife and threw her into a septic tank was taken into custody for domestic violence/disorderly conduct in the 9000 block of South Deerbrooke Court at about 9:20 p.m. July 5.
