Burglary

1 A home was entered in the 5400 block of Mansfield Drive and a purse was stolen off the kitchen table between late evening July 2 and 6 a.m. July 3. The side door to the house was found unlocked, and a set of house keys was lying in the grass by the garage. A car that was parked in the driveway was also rummaged through.

Theft

2 A blue Honda Ridgeline pickup was stolen out of a driveway in the 6300 block of Mansfield Drive between 10 p.m. July 2 and 6 a.m. July 3. The vehicle might have been left unlocked, with a set of spare keys inside.

3 A $2,000 laptop computer was stolen out of a vehicle in the 6200 block of Mansfield Drive between late evening July 2 and 6:30 a.m. July 3.

4 Four vehicles were rummaged through in the 5600 block of Garland Lane between late evening July 2 and early morning July 3. Change was stolen out of two of the vehicles.

5 Eight adults were cited for shoplifting at Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., between June 30 and July 6.

Assault

6 A man was taken into custody for domestic violence/disorderly conduct for allegedly hitting his grandfather several times at a residence in the 5400 block of Moorehead Lane at about 5:25 p.m. July 5.

OWI

7 Police went to South 51st Street and West Grange at about 4:45 p.m., after a caller reported being involved in a collision with another vehicle, and the driver of that vehicle ran away from the scene and was hiding in some bushes. The New Berlin K9 unit responded to the area, and the man was quickly found and taken into custody. He was cited for OWI (drugs) and possession of marijuana, and was taken to the hospital for a blood draw.

Other

8 Police received a report that a “bigger” female with a gun was seen standing outside with about eight other males in the 6700 block of Crocus Court at about 1 p.m. July 2. The caller stated the female handed the gun off to one of the males and they all took off running when they heard the sirens. Three people were taken into custody: one for having a warrant, one for interfering with police and one for disorderly conduct. The dispatch log did not state if a weapon was found.

9 A man was taken into custody for domestic violence/disorderly conduct for being physically aggressive with his girlfriend and refusing to leave her residence in the 6700 block of Crocus Court at about 10:20 p.m. July 4.
