Families will be learn how to make holiday gifts from natural, recycled, and repurposed objects at Homemade Holidays, Wehr Nature Center's annual open house event, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the nature center, 9701 W. College Ave in Whitnall Park.

Admission is $6 per person or $5 for members of Friends of Wehr. The price of admission includes materials to make three different craft projects at the event, and extra crafts will be available for $1 each. Non-crafters are admitted for free. Crafting projects will include pencil holders, stone sculptures, jewelry, ornaments, homemade cards, and pine cone trees.

Families and individuals may pay at the door. Groups must register in advance by Nov. 30.

Cookies will also be available for purchase. Proceeds from the cookie sale will go to support Wehr's accessibility renovations.

This program is recommended for ages five and up.
