The Polish Center of Wisconsin will host a traditional Polish Christmas Eve (Wigilia) celebration complete with Polish Christmas customs, traditional décor, and a family style Wigilia meal at 5 p.m. Dec. 11 at the center, 6941 S. 68 St.
The evening will begin with sharing a traditional Wigilia wafer called oplatek, which will be followed by a complete meal catered by Jack Norman Catering. The menu of traditionally meatless dishes will include mushroom soup, Polish apple salad, red cabbage salad with oranges and leeks, marinated herring and rye bread, baked fish with tomato or dill sauce, pierogi, fruit compote, and assorted sweets.
After dinner, attendees will join in singing Polish and English Christmas carols.
Cost for the dinner event is $40 per adults and $25 for children ages 6-15. Children age five and younger are free.
