For those wishing to learn a traditional Polish craft or just send unique, handmade Christmas cards this year, the Polish Center of Wisconsin will host a Christmas card workshop from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at the center, 6941 S. 68th Street.

Participants will create four different cards while leaning the Wycinanki paper-cutting technique. Reusable patterns will be provided for participants to bring home and use to create more cards.

The class will be led by instructor Kasia Drake-Hames, who has been teaching art in a variety of community-based settings for over 10 years. Drake-Hames specializes in fiber art techniques and paper crafts, particularly traditional Polish paper crafts, which she learned from her grandmother.

No previous card experience is required. All materials are included in the class fee, which is $15 for adults, $12 for Polish Heritage Alliance members, and $10 for children age 6-12. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
