The Polish Center of Wisconsin will be selling pączki, filled donut-like pastries, for Pączki Day, Feb. 28.
Pączki Day is traditionally the day before Ash Wednesday, and in the past was meant to be a way for Catholic households to use up remaining ingredients that were forbidden to eat during the season of Lent.
The Polish Center will sell both prune and raspberry-filled pączki in quantities of a dozen or three dozen. Boxes of one dozen are $11.50 each, and boxes of three-dozen are $34.
Orders can be made by filling out a form on the Polish Center's website. Orders are due by Monday, Feb. 13.
On Tuesday, Feb. 28, pączki can be picked up at the Polish Center, 6941 S. 68th Street in Franklin, or delivered for $6 per address. Delivery is only available in Milwaukee County. Also, from 7 to 11:30 a.m. that day, people can stop by the Polish Center to enjoy one pączek (singular pączki) and a coffee for $3.
