In a celebration of the upcoming spring season, Wehr Nature Center, 9701 W. College Ave., will host a maple tapping workshop from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.

An expert maple-syrup-maker will lead the workshop, deisgned for adults, explaining how to get syrup from backyard maple trees. Participants will learn about tools and tricks to drill and tap the trees, techniques to store and boil down sap, and the process of finishing and storing syrup.

The fee is $25 per adult or $20 for members of Friends of Wehr. The fee includes a spike, sap collection bag, and a holder for the bag.

Registration is encouraged in order to secure a spot, and those interested can register by calling Wehr at 414-425-8550.
