The road construction project on Highway 36 (Loomis Road) is scheduled to recommence soon and be completed this spring, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The road project will run from Racine County Road Y to Highway 100. The seven-mile project runs through Racine, Waukesha, and Milwaukee counties.
A single lane in each direction near the intersection of Highway 36 and Champions Drive will be closed until the project is nearly completed. Other parts of the work will require intermittent, short-term lane closures.
The contractor hired for the road rehabilitation project, Super Western, began work on the project in 2016.
Improvements on the road include reconstruction of Highway 36 between Champions Drive and Highway 45, resurfacing of Highway 45 near Highway 36, and resurfacing or base patching on the rest of Highway 36.
