Wehr Nature Center will host a "Woodcocks and Wood Frogs" program from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the nature center, 9701 W. College Ave., which will highlight the iconic mating dance and other habits of the American woodcock.

The bird has a unique "sky dance" they use to establish territory, which participants in the event will be able to see in a sunset stroll through Wehr's oak savanna.

The evening will also include a short presentation on on the shorebirds of the woods, and participants will get to listen to other animals such as wood frogs during the walk through the forest.

Registration for the event is required by Thursday, April 6. The fee to attend is $12 per person, $10 for residents of Milwaukee county, and $7 for members of Friends of Wehr.

Parking is $3 per car, though Friends of Wehr receive free parking.
