Franklin Area Parents and Students United, the Franklin Health Department and Franklin Public Schools have partnered to host "Stairway to Heroin," an informational event to address the rise in heroin use in the community and surrounding areas, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the Saber Center for Performing Arts, 8222 S 51st St.

The night will feature a variety of presenters, from detectives to medical professionals, discussing opiate and heroin use in the area, how easily accessible the drugs can be, how they can affect young people and their families, and stories of recovery.

The event is free and open to anyone age 12 and older.

To register or learn more about the event's speakers and topics, visit stairwaytoheroinfranklin.eventbrite.com. Registration is not required to attend but is requested for planning purposes.
