Boerner Botanical Gardens, 9400 Boerner Drive, will celebrate its opening April 28 with free admission.

That day, the garden's first 100 visitors will receive free tree saplings, courtesy of Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful in partnership with the Argosy Foundation.

In honor of Arbor Day, also April 28, officials, parks staff, and students from West Allis Jefferson Elementary School will plant two trees in the park that morning.

From April 28 onward, Boerner will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Regular prices are in effect from April 29-Oct. 29 for standard admission, and the first Tuesday of every month (except on major holidays) features free admission for Milwaukee County residents.
