OAK CREEK - A 54-year-old woman died after being rescued from a mobile home fire in Oak Creek, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner Office.

The woman, Linda R. Pearson from Brookfield, was transported to St. Luke's Hospital after being removed from the burning home and was later pronounced dead.

A 25-year-old man was also inside and received burn injuries but managed to exit the home. The family pet was claimed by the fire, which is still under investigation.

The fire occurred the night of Feb. 6 in a mobile home park at 2137 W. College Ave.

According to a news release from Oak Creek police, officers responded after receiving a report at 10:43 p.m. and found trailer number 328 "fully engulfed in flames."

Local Red Cross workers have already met with family members to provide financial assistance for emergency housing, food, clothing, and other services as needed.

According to the Medical Examiner's Office, further information will be available following an autopsy.
