OAK CREEK - The T-Rexes from Oak Creek placed third on their "America's Funniest Home Videos" episode, getting beat by a clapping baby and a jumping dog.
The third place prize was $2,000.
"We had a great night last night watching the episode with family," said Alison Carlson, Cayden's mother who submitted the video (shot by a neighbor) to AFV. "We were so excited and grateful for the opportunity for sure."
The episode, which aired March 19, featured the dinos who had a play fight followed by one stealing the other's candy. The prehistoric pair were played by Cayden Carlson and Cayd Vetter who encountered each other in the same costume while trick-or-treating in October 2016.
AFV was interested in running the video Carlson submitted but wanted consent from the family of the other dinosaur. The hunt was on across Oak Creek until Jill Vetter, the mother of the second dinosaur, saw the initial article and contacted Carlson.
Carlson said she is very grateful to the community for helping to find the Vetter family.
Regarding the third place position, Alison Carlson said "dogs and super adorable babies are hard to beat."
"We did finish third, but it was a once in a lifetime experience filled with wonderful memories and that's what life is all about anyway," she said.
After the taping in early February, the group – which included the two boys, their mothers, and the neighbor who shot the video along with her son – went back to their hotel and celebrated at the pool with pizza.
