OAK CREEK - Georgie Porgie's is expanding to include craft beer.
In early May, the restaurant, 9555 S Howell Ave., will be opening "George's Garage," an expansion in honor of the late owner, George Liapis.
With the expansion comes not only double the seating but also craft beer. A news release said the concept will provide "a more grown-up experience to the current Treefort theme."
The garage will be located adjacent to their current location, meaning the Treefort will remain intact.
The release states the garage concept seemed like a natural fit given the location's weekly classic car shows which take place Memorial Day weekend through the middle of September.
“George’s Garage is a place to come relax, enjoy delicious food and a cold one in a more grown-up space," said co-owner Peter Liapis. "We know car enthusiasts will love the space it and kids will think is cool! My brother Lou and I are thrilled to pull off a space that honors our dad’s legacy while honoring the desire for our customers in Oak Creek to have more seating."
Last year, Georgie Porgie's Treefort Restaurant celebrated 25 years in Oak Creek.
