Lights, camera, action!

Three adorable Amur tiger cubs born at the Columbus Zoo said hello to their adoring fans this week during their first public appearance at the zoo.

The cubs were born at the zoo in March, and have been growing stronger at the zoo's “denning area” with their mother, Irisa.

Metis, who is a male, and his two sisters, Callisto and Elara, were named after Jupiter’s moons. Their father's name is Jupiter.

In a video released by the zoo, the cubs play with each other, take tumbles in the mud and explore their new habitat.

“We are thrilled that the tiger cubs are healthy and strong and ready to explore the tiger habitat,” said President and CEO Tom Stalf. “Amur tigers are critically endangered, and we are happy the species has grown by three with this litter.”
