Louisville cheerleaders suspended after election night posts

Several University of Louisville cheerleaders were placed on investigative suspension after controversial social media posts on election night.

Louisville's football team plays Saturday.

Officials said cheerleader Brynn Baker and others are under investigation while administrators look into the circumstances that led to some specific tweets.

On Twitter, Baker told an unidentified person to "stfu about racism, sexism, whateverism." She then sent another tweet saying "You're so pressed for nothing lmao. You act like you came off a boat."

Her account has since been deleted.

Louisville’s head spirit coach and spirit coordinator Todd Sharp confirmed to WHAS11 that the tweets belonged to Baker and released a statement:

“As the Head Spirit Coach and Spirit Coordinator, I am very troubled and concerned about the exchanges that took place in social media late last evening involving one or more of our student athletes. We have worked very hard to build a successful and incredibly diverse spirit program here at the University.  These conversations over the last day are not an accurate representation of our program, our values, or our coaching staff. We are investigating this matter and will take appropriate action upon the completion of such.“
