The Associated Press released the first iteration of its top 25 poll Monday, with Michigan landing 11th.

The top five features Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, USC and Clemson, with Penn State at No. 6 (full top-25 rankings below).

With Wisconsin No. 9, four Big Ten teams made the top 11. Michigan State is unsurprisingly unranked.

Florida, U-M's opponent in the opener Sept. 2, was 17th.

U-M was just outside the top 10 in the Free Press' preseason top 25

U-M ranked 9th in the preseason Amway Coaches Poll, while Florida was 16th.
