Stephen Curry unanimously selected to All-NBA First Team

Stephen Curry — the unanimous NBA MVP for the 2015-16 season — also was unanimously selected to the all-NBA first team, the league announced Friday. He received first-team votes on all 129 ballots from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters across North America.

Joining the Golden State Warriors sharpshooter on the first team were LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers (125 first-team votes); Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder (120); Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs (94); and DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers (39)

This is the 10th first-team selection of James' career and the first for Westbrook, Leonard and Jordan.

Headlining the second team is Thunder superstar Kevin Durant, who received 36 first-place votes because of the dominance of James and Leonard at the forward position throughout the season. He is joined by Draymond Green, Warriors (40); Chris Paul, Clippers (8); Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers (0); and DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings (32).

Jordan and Lillard were the only players on the first, second or third teams who weren't chosen to participate in the 2016  All-Star Game.

Making up the third team are Kyle Lowry (0), Toronto Raptors; Klay Thompson (0), Warriors; Paul George (0), Indiana Pacers; LaMarcus Aldridge (3), Spurs; and Andre Drummond (13), Detroit Pistons.

James Harden, Marc Gasol, Anthony Davis, Pau Gasol, Blake Griffin, Tim Duncan and Kyrie Irving — all first-, second- or third-team selections last year — didn't make the cut.
